Session #1 of Transformational Leadership: Leading From the Inside Out 2022 Program
March 30, 2022
The Self-Aware Leader: Looking Within To Improve Your Understanding of Others
Self-awareness is one of the hallmarks of a great leader. It demonstrates a capacity to honestly evaluate your own actions, beliefs and impact on others. But self-awareness eludes many people, and our understanding of ourselves and our inner worlds are limited. It is rare that we take the time to step back from our thoughts and reflect on the reality of the situations we are in, or how we are creating that reality.
In this workshop you will learn more about yourself and how you show up in the world. This will give you new insights on leadership tools that may work for you. During this workshop, there will be individual, small and large group reflective exercises that will help anchor your learning and start to build a sense of community within the cohort.
Learning Outcomes:
-
Gain an in-depth understanding of self-awareness as the necessary starting point for working with others and developing personal leadership.
-
Reflect on the degree of alignment of our behaviour and decisions with our personal leadership style and future goals.
-
Build awareness of the way each person observes the world (empowering or limiting beliefs) and the impact of this on their decisions and actions.
-
Practice and experience vulnerability as the root in creating connection.
