Understanding the Realities for People with Developmental Disabilities

Session 4/5 from our Be Inclusive 2019 Winter Series
April 11

Individuals with developmental disabilities experience various levels of "othering" as they live out their lives.  Assumptions are made about what they are able to do and what they are unable to do. There is a general lack of understanding that people with disabilities experience emotions and feelings like everyone else and that they experience hurt when treated disrespectfully.

We invite you to join us for a lunchtime panel discussion to learn more about the lives of people living with developmental disabilities. You will hear from individuals who are connected to the Alice Saddy Association, a local organization that envisions a community that welcomes every person equally with respect and acceptance.
