Overview:

Camp Kee-Mo-Kee is an inclusive community open to all ages and circumstances where opportunities are provided for physical, emotional and personal growth and development within a camping environment.

Our organization values safety, accessibility, financial accountability, environmental stewardship, and Christian values.

Our organization is searching for candidates to join the  Board of Directors. We are looking for candidates with experience in finance, strategic planning, board governance, marketing, property management, human resources, fund development, and event planning.

As a Board Member you play an important role in driving the strategic direction of the organization. Thereby ensuring its sustainability, and continued service to youth in a wonderful community.

Responsibilities:

Govern the corporation of Camp Kee-MoKee responsibly.

Ensure the mission and vision of the camp are being fulfilled.

Accountable for the financial budget and fiscally responsible for the resources necessary for Camp Kee-Mo-Kee to fulfill its mission, vision and purpose.

Support the Executive Director and provide resources through committee work.

Implement and execute on the long-term strategic plan for the camp.

Please note Board members are required to have a current Criminal Records Check (renewed every 3 years), and complete AODA training.

Time Committment:

A Director’s term lasts three (3) years, which can be renewable.

The Board meets monthly 8 times per year, 6 of which are virtual, and twice in person at the camp. Meetings are average 2 hours in length. Document review time required by members prior to the meeting.

If a member holds an Officer position  there are 2 extra meetings as part of the Executive Committee.

A Board member must also sit on at least one additional working committee. Committees generally meet monthly for 1.5- 2 hours to work on specific areas to support the operations of Camp Kee-MoKee such as Property, Finance, Personnel, etc. Board Members are also expected to support 1-2 community events per year, 4-8 hours)
