Since 2018, Type Diabeat-It has focused on addressing diabetes risks in BPOC communities. During the pandemic, Mystery was looking for space where she could hold cooking classes. Pillar Nonprofit Network was glad to offer Mystery use of the second floor kitchen and flex desk space at Innovation Works.
Brave Space Guidelines are a way to support cultivating spaces where we can build trust, and challenge our own assumptions. These guidelines pave the way for being intentional in our actions, grounding ourselves in how we show up for others; our colleagues, the organizations and ecosystems we are a part of, and the community as a whole.
Pillar Nonprofit Network is moving forward with plans to restructure its membership program to create more equitable access, enhance long-term sustainability, and boost valuable service benefits. Our recent Information for Action survey received robust responses, showing nearly unanimous agreement with our principles.
Shared learning agreements prompt us to reflect on the ethical dimensions of our organizational and community spaces. These agreements challenge us to consider critical questions: Who feels safe within these spaces, and who does not? Are our practices truly ethical and inclusive?

519Pursuit first got involved with Pillar and Innovation Works through the Libro Social Enterprise Incubator program supported by Libro Credit Union. During this time, the idea of the 519Pledge for Socks campaign was imagined. Thanks to the connections made by being a Pillar member, 519Pursuit developed partnerships with the London Food Bank.
Pillar Nonprofit Network is reimagining our membership program to better support equity, resilience, and sustainable growth in the nonprofit sector and better enable individuals and purpose-driven businesses to connect to that work. We see this as a re-think of Pillar’s role in connecting and convening the network for better impact and better cross-sector collaboration, the heart of our founding mission.

Almost 8 years ago, we opened Innovation Works to unite nonprofits, businesses and individuals to collaborate and solve some of the community's most pressing challenges - together. Indwell, a Christian charity that creates affordable housing communities, became a co-tenant at Innovation Works in 2019. They quickly got involved in community events and networking opportunities.
